Shawn is a morally righteous but emotionally confused young man who spent three of the formative years of his teenage life in the future without knowing it. Understandably, he had some trouble getting back into the swing of things when returned. He had a fight with his family, took refuge in the 4400 Center, got mentored and ultimately used by its leader Jordan, took over after his assasination, stepped down ungraciously after his resurrection, tried to make peace between the factions, had a self-destructive affair with the 4400's assasin, and was subsequently interrogated into a coma by her when Jordan became public enemy number one. Shawn's now out of the coma and in NTAC protection.

When Shawn Farrell lays his hands on you he has the choice to give you healing or take away your life. He has been charted healing all things ranging from arthritis to leukemia. He can bring a man back from the brink of death. He cannot, however, reverse the killing effects of a negative promicin reaction. Healing also takes a toll on Shawn similar to the strain of whatever he's taken away from the target.
